Aluminium Tread Plate
Aluminium tread plates are used in Turkey for multiple purposes such as workplace safety, (to prevent people from slipping) or for decorative purposes.
In Turkey, these products are often made from alloy 1050 at a 5/6 thickness. In other words, 5 mm in sheet thickness and 1 mm aluminium tread plate height. As Altek Metal we stock hot rolled alloy 5754 in our inventory. By using a material that has twice as much a resistance quality, we are able lower the thickness used to 3,5/5 mm. As a result, we save 30% from the weight of the material. In addition, as the alloy 5754 treadplates have more corrosion resistance, they wear out slower. In summary, the customer is able to reduce the weight of their end product and reduce their materials cost as the 5754 are thinner.
